A dragonfly on a plumeria bush

Dragonfly on a Plumeria

This photograph is one of those rare images of being in the right place at the right time. I was waiting for somebody near a grove of plumeria bushes. The plumeria bush is the shrub that Hawaiians make their Leis from. In the winter time, these plants lose all of their leaves and look very alien.

The person I was waiting for was running very late so my attentions were wandering. I was meandering around when I noticed a dragonfly darting around. I had my camera on me so I took it out and got ready to snap an image.

The sunlight was brilliant and perfect, the timing was dead on, and my camera was in my hands. I snapped a picture and voila. This is still one of my favorite photos.
